Likes: Making masks, reading books, acquiring information, traveling, and sleeping. Dislikes: Things being broken, being caught while sneaking around, failure, fire, the scent of particular odors, and rodents.
Personality: Despite his past and being a laid-back person, Renato usually has a soft smile on his face when talking to people, enemy or not. Because of his carefree attitude, people often think he does not care about anything, which is false...most of the time. Aside from being so lax, he is easily intrigued by knowledge, his curiosity often getting the best of him.
Biography: Raised in a decent household, Renato had no problems living in Tuscany during his childhood. He and his siblings--an older sister, a young brother, and a young sister--were raised in isolation due to their parent's consent. None of the children questioned them.
Renato and his siblings were trained in their area, learning how to run up walls, scale buildings, actions that they found exhilarating in their childhood...not knowing the truth behind it.
Due to his curious personality, Renato and his older sister decided to figure out why they were training. Reading books in their father's office, they found a passage in his diary with vague descriptions of someone, a cross sketched next to the name. Both Renato and his sister decided to escape the household and find out the said person's relationship with their father.
Upon reaching the walls of the central area of Tuscany, they asked around, obtaining information until guards started getting suspicious of their sudden action and curiosity, following them back to their abode as the sun sank into the horizon.
A few days later, Renato and his older sister are called into their father's office, scolding them for leaving the sanctuary.
They soon understood why.
Guards from the city raided the household, burning the building down as the family tried to evacuate the area. They found themselves trapped in their father's office until he told them to open a small doorway leading outside while their father and mother stayed behind. His father gave him the diary, saying that everything will be revealed once they find safety.
Renato's parents died from the raid, their bodies being left to burn in the corroding house that flickered in the night as the children watched in the distance.
Things got worst as they knew they could not stay in Tuscany, traveling up north towards Venezia, where their uncle and aunt lived. Upon their travels, Renato's older sister and younger brother died of illness, leaving the young teen taking care of his partially blind sister.
As he reached Venezia, settling in his aunt and uncle's house, he decided to read the diary his father gave him the night of the raid. He became immersed, locking himself in his room for days until he came to the conclusion that his father was an assassin, part of a secret organization hidden in the shadows of history. Despite learning this, Renato decides not to take up a blade, but rather help others affiliated with the order.
Years passed and Renato took up the role of being an informant while in the guise of a mask-maker and merchant, giving information to assassins in need of guidance.
Now, Renato spends his time making masks in Venezia, selling them for profit while also obtaining information when he gets the chance in the market. He often travels from city to city to gain knowledge hidden in the dark, sharing it with his fellow assassins.
